Location and drive-time
Located
200 kilometres north east of Melbourne, the King Valley is a 3-hour drive from
Melbourne. There is an excellent Freeway and you travel in comfort by Rolls
Royce, or another car from our luxury range.
Wine styles
Italian
wine making influences this region producing distinctive and interesting wines.
The full spectrum of grape varieties, including a number of lesser-known
varieties such as Temperanillo, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Sangiovese are grown and
blended.
The
Alpine Valleys is home to a cluster of wine-makers that produce predominantly
fine cool climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Landscape and climate
The
King Valley soils vary considerably but fertile rich red clay loams are
widespread.
The
landfall varies from flat in the North end of the valley to high altitudes in
the South end of the king valley that favour a lighter table wine production.
